@turkeyslayer100 Any kind of goldfish will work. You can also have some types of catfish and mosquito minnows too :-)

I left a comment on your one of your other videos saying how much i love them! they are very helpful yet not too serious or textbook like! I would love if you would check out my channel! I am having a container garden contest right now! It would be awesome if you made a video teaching how to make a container garden! Even though it is self explanatory, it would be very helpful to compare mine to yours!

Would this work in Arkansas where we have hot/humid summers and some ice/snow in winter dipping down into the teens like 17 F.?? Can u put fish in a rubbermaid pond and how do u keep the water from stagnating and getting mosquito larvae?

@kokonutbaby1 Most areas have a mosquito abatement program or vector control where you can get free mosquito fish for your pond. Feeder goldfish also work. Both can be purchased at most pet stores and will keep any size pond mosquito free! Hot humid Arkansas summers are fine for pond plants, but severe hot weather might need partial sun. Use a hoop greenhouse for wintertime with C9/C7 xmas tree lights for heat (info on my website). The water should also be circulated to prevent icing over :-)

This pond would be really easy to winter protect with a dome greenhouse similar to my early greenhouse video. They are all pretty hardy, so should do great in Sacramento. Thanks! GAiL

@littlrhody Depending on your climate zone, you can make a simple dome house with PVC pipe and 4 or 6 mil. plastic sheeting. Heating is easy with an aquarium heater. In colder climates, you will need to reinforce the plastic with white duct tape and hang C9 Christmas tree lights for heat. One inch bubble wrap can be used for insulation. New video is coming soon!
