I'm considering this for my first handgun (and carry gun). Can you tell me how wide this gun is? I can't find that anywhere. Also, does your pinkey fully rest on the grip once the mag is in place, or is it still really a sub-compact design?

BTW, my main contender other than this is a p99 compact

@LoboLoco8908 At its wides point (the slide release) the gun is ~3.2cm (1.26in) wide. I don't have a caliper so I eyeballed it with a ruler.

If I put in the 13 rd magazine my pinky is about 1/2-3/4 on the gun, it no loner hangs completely off (ie. I can comfortably hold the gun with my pinky on the grip).

@jkash56 I don't think any xd mags are compatible with xdm's from what I have read the dimensions are slightly different width wise.

For the holster I am not sure but the length of the xdm is 3/4" longer than the xd-9 sc.

I just bought this gun and I love it. Trigger is so smooth, great for conceal/carry, 3.8 match barrel, and its very accurate right out of the box. They provide you with customizable grips; however, they don't provide you with a 3/32nds punch to remove the grip. Beware: They stock holster WILL scratch your gun so I would not recommend using it. First day at the range, first time I holstered it it scratched my gun...not happy about that but other than that I'm very pleased.

I haven't seen, shot and feel the XDM yet (not available in state where I live).

How would you compare this to an XD model in terms of the unbalance weight of the slide to the polymer grip? Is it better feel that the slide is not too heavy (balance)?

i want to get one of these but i swear anymore if its not a pocket gun like a lcp or s&w airweight i wont hardly carry it i do have my ccw permit but i just like something small i can throw in a pocket holster and go its so much eaiser i guess a nice holster would make it alot better though
