作曲者馬克吉勒威，加拿大人，是一位成功的歌曲創作者、編曲家、吉他手、錄音師以及攝影師。他的歌曲反映了對當地傳統的深沉感受，並描繪出島上的風土民情，目前最暢銷的就­是「Song For The Mira」與「Away From The Roll of The Sea」。

本曲共使用了四段歌詞，在開頭的前奏之後分別以同樣的女高音旋律唱出了前兩段歌詞，其它聲部則以齊唱或合唱的方式呈現；第三段採用合唱方式表達，並開展了新的旋律；第四段­則由女聲齊唱，並回到最初的旋律，全曲最終以無伴奏合唱結束。
