Port was designed by Jerome Tave (JeromeTave.com), Lou Fink (LouFink.com), and William Green, students at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

We recognize that everyone's life is cluttered with gadgets. We realize the objects that tell the true story of who someone is are those that retain value every single day. Why leave all that behind to collect dust? Whether you use mac or p.c. this system was developed to integrate 7 mobile seamlessly into someone's life style. These users may add sections to their os that flow as they do. Port connects and creates a sense of awareness of what you already own. This is not a sustainability movement, this isn't a call to action, but a new way to view the personal tablet and its connective potential.

We took inspiration from the merging of the Zune and WinMo development teams. Windows 7 mobile is sexy, the Zune HD is sexy. We took inspiration from these aesthetics. The video illustrates how someone can have the ability to multitask in a way that parallels their daily lives. The navigation of this version of 7 mobile gives the illusion and comfort of multitasking. A fine compromise for Microsoft and us consumers. Its a 5 minute video (attention span please!).

The Port Extension Bars are divided into the sections of Microsoft that 7 mobile is trying to unify. Audio (additional equipment), Home (entertainment), Gaming (Xbox), Professional (creative), and Office. The bars come preset to order with the in and out ports that we found necessary to the tasks performed in the users lifestyle. For instance, The user in the video uses the Home Extension Bar. It has docking and charging capabilities. However it works as any other HTPC would providing wireless connectivity. The ports include USB 2.0, HDMI, RCA*****.

The pricing on the bar We would estimate around $150-$200. The tablet and the bars can be sold as a package or separately.

You can also order the Bars with custom port combinations.

The tablet starts at $249. Specs as Follows:

The Chamfer starts to descend where the bezel ends. (touch area free from tilt.)
10.1 " display
.5" thick
3 physical capitative buttons (back, home, search)
1 USB 2.0
Physical Volume +,-, and mute buttons
Physical Camera Button
Front and rear facing cameras.
2 charging ports (magnetic)
Headphone jack
Wifi Enabled.
Not sure about 3g...might have to bump up to $350 for that.
Runs Freescale's IMx.515 series (WILL run 7 mobile.) ARM FTW

Battery life you ask? Well...depends how much you use it. We are attempting to make a universal port like the iPhone's. Charge it USB, dock it in an extension bar. Its gonna last 8 hrs if you don't watch netflix for hours at a time. Battery tech will come.

Weight you ask? Not sure. We'll get the spreadsheet going soon.
