Actually Ace wanted to do a rock album but was voted 2-1 in favor of the concept album since Eric was a member of the band yet and really had no say in what they did. As much as I like some of the songs on dynasty/unmasked/elder I wish they had stayed in just rock music and not trying to follow trends.

I've posted here before, but I gotta say this. I'm not a huge Frehley fan. He's often a selfish guy ("I," "me," "my")...That being said, can you imagine if he had done another solo record in late '80 to appease his desire to have a solo career, and then stayed in the band in '81 and forced them to do a back-to-basics rock album with this lineup instead of the Elder? How far could they have taken it? KISS could've remained so big that the non-makeup era in the 80s would've been unnecessary.

LOL at 4:29, Ace's cloak looks like Marilyn Monroe's skirt (frm the famous movie scene) hahaha
i just love the way Mr Carr plays; he goes berserk on the drums like there's no tomorrow. hard & fast & joyful, like he's having the best time of his life - which im sure he is.
