This appeared to have happened a couple of days ago. More bad driving along the B245. Good job no one was killed as it mounted the pavement. The sign has been bent, the 40mph bit came off and is buried in hedge and several branches of the hedge on both sides has been broken in half. The road is a very simple straight road. Let's hope the motorist pays for this damage to the council, so that we don't have a massive council tax payment.

We want that this road to be reduced to 30mph, but this is always being refused, despite numerous accidents and a school nearby.

  • @dweecsbm - It is common sense that motorists should drive carefully in icy conditions or better still, follow the AA's advice, if the roads are bad, not to drive at all unless essential. I have seen mangled police vehicles because even advanced drivers don't always drive carefully in poor road conditions.

  • Ice caused both accidents not excessive speed. Get the facts before posting.

  • The hedge looks badly 'hacked', you kind of wonder whether the Council is actually killing the hedge.

  • Saw more broken branches along the road so may be council vehicle, doing the hedges, smashed this road sign!
