CP 1400 - Class 20's Portuguese Sisters

These are some of the 67 English Electric Co. Ltd. (EE) CP 1400 Diesel Locomotive, with a 8CSVT mkII turbo charged English Electric Engine. The first ten ones where made in England, beeing the other 57 build in Portugal by Sorefame, under license of EE.


The sound is similar to the EE Type 1, British Rail Class 20, with a thrash that has the addition of the turbo whistle. Pretty lovely the sound of the motor, specially for the British fellows.


Like the Cass 20's, the CP 1400 is capable of doing anything and to go anywhere in Portugal, making it the most popular diesel locomotive in a national basis. Some of this locomotive where sold to Argentina.

Tenho saudades quando ouço o som do motor dessa locomotiva e também os EE Classes 20 e 40 nos Caminhos de Ferro Britânicos que eu sabia quando era criança, adolescente e adulto jovem.
