@johnburtonbalnis Good ear! I don't think it was a mistake on her part; it's most likely an interpretive decision. I'm studying this sonata now, and the best guess I can give is that she kept it down in that range because she wanted a louder dynamic. To me, that left hand passage is a little weak when played in the correct octave. Of course, we have a different piano than Beethoven, and Lisita has a different interpretation as well. I'm curious too!
