Wow I can't believe this video has so few views in comparison to other Montuno guitar lessons. This is by far the best one I've found! The little chart with the mambo clave and the guitar montuno together is awsome.

I recommend everyone to check the website, quite useful too.

I have one question for you, how would you play the montuno with a 3-2 clave rhythm? Is it the same thing but reversed, or what? It is far more common in the records which I am listening these days. Thank you!

@soldius24 thanks a lot i really appreciate it... ya with a 3/2 clave it's the same reversed. the rule of thumb is that on the 2 side the montuno hits on the 1 and on the 3 side the montuno hits on the & of 4. if you have songs you really like use a transcription program to get the montuno by slowing down so you can get the real deal! all the best

assuming ur talking bout playing the montunos on single strings. Use the same rhythm used to play the chords but instead of strumming chords play individual notes on single strings.

For example at 2:20, i strum the rhythm. (the montuno rhythm is green tao symbols) At 3:00, i use same rhythm but i pick individual notes from the chords. play the chords while i play the single note. should be same rhythm :) check my lesson @ guitarkitchen hope dis helps
