@closertofiftythanyew I see, so you dont think that its your responsibity to raise your own children with a healthy diet ........you want to live in a literal nanny state. I suppose your going to make these demands and still say that your taxed to much. No, no contradictions there at all.

This discussion sucks. Some people like freedom and some ppl like safe prison. And this is the only difference between capitalists and socialists. Can you understand we are all different?

@tarpumpphillips Sorry, most of the public self-offs took place in the 1980s, gas, phones, things like that.

So an 82 year old woman with Alzheimers is the woman to be Prime Minister? well anything is better than David Cameron

The Labour government went to the IMF in 1978, 2 years after Wilson resigned so that is wrong. Unemployment was rising under Callaghan but when they left office it was 1,7m under Thatcher it went to 3.5m on 3 occasions so check your facts before sounding off.

oh yeah she was terrible wasnt she.....must be why she was in power for 11 and a half years.
Perhaps you socialists should think of whats best for your country rather than whats best for yourselves!!
Mrs Thatcher brought this country back from the brink of chaos: strikes, blackouts, 3 day working weeks....she ended them all and pushed and shoved the people back into a unified society, restoring Britains pride as she did so.
MackemJohnson 3 years ago
The blackouts, 3 day weeks were under Ted Heath and for a reminder Thatcher was a member of that government. That is why he was kicked out, after going to the country with the question "who governs?" and the reply was not you mate. also a unified society? we are talking about the woman who discarded millions of people to perminant unemployment? the woman who took away the rights of union members, and the woman who used violence to get her way? For the record I am not a socialist, but a Liberal
