Many Atheists have been arguing that religion is evil because of the atrocities that has happened throughout history such as inquisitions, the crusades, etc. They make a very well point but they seem to be ignoring or are unaware what happened when a certain nation(s) tired to abolish religion......

Man doesn't need religion or a lack thereof to commit evil.

There is good and evil. We designed morals. There are no gods, it is presumptive to underestimate man for creating something so basic. We've even improved healthcare and the methods for wiping our butts. Being nice to the kitty and the kid next door probably helps keep the neighborhood friendly.

Your example of Russian Communists doing atrocities simply shows that atrocities will happen whether in the name of a god or other things either way. Therefore belief in a god does not prevent atrocities. Furthermore, the trend seems to be that it is the secular societies that act much more civil than others that could condone uncivilized behavior, because a god desires it.

And yet, the Christians "Moral Law Giver" has been proven time and time again to be immoral to the point where we have to correct his mistakes.

He call slavery moral, and yet it is illegal and immoral in our world.

He calls for the public execution of homosexuals and "unruly" children, and yet this is against our law.

He calls for the execution of "Witches" which we know to be ridiculous, and also know un-told thousands of therefore innocent people were tortured and executed over the centuries.

Morality was around a LONG time before religion falsely claimed a monopoly on it. Even dogs have a sense of property ownership (and understand the concept of 'theft' by other dogs), and show love etc. to their owners. Perhaps they have access to some invisible animal bible that we don't know about? Try reading something other than your bible... or just open your eyes and observe reality!

I'd like to point out that there have been many horrible crimes committed by people who don't collect stamps. In fact an overwhelming majority of murderers rapists and other violent criminals don't collect stamps, so isn't it just obvious that not collecting stamps can easily lead you to commit violence!?
