Mr. Shatner, I'm an admirer and fan of your work since your two appearances on Rod Serling's Twilight Zone. In one television interview you invoked the memory of your Star Trek character's death and the challenge that imposes upon J.J. Abrams. Writers of a potential movie may have already thought of this. Since there is a new timeline, J.J. Abram's writers are free to spare Kirk. Either the rookie crew doesn't retrieve Tolian Soran or Kirk doesn't get blown off the ship into the energy ribbon.
