The crates were hard, which made me begin to question myself for the idea, but Selena didn't seem to mind. Or maybe she decided to keep shut about it. She leaned leaned her back to the crates just to sit back up after a few seconds, clearly, it wasn't comfortable. I apologized, saying that I thought it would be comfortable. She said that it's okay since her legs were exhausted & her feet hurt, that it was perfect.
I debated in my mind whether telling her what I really felt was a good idea or not. But then again, if I didn't say it now, I might not ever say it.
"You have no idea how much the last few days have meant to me," I started, "Meeting you is the best thing that has ever happened to me." I hesitated to tell her the next thing I was about to say but if I didn't, I might not be able to say it to anyone.
"I love you," I whispered.
I always imagined saying those three simple words would be difficult. But when I told Selena that I love her, it wasn't difficult at all. It was true & real. It came naturally.
"Did you ever imagine things to be like this? I mean, you & me?"
"No," I said honestly.
"It's a little bit scary."
"You don't have to say it back, Sel. That's not why I said it -"
"I know," she cut my statement short, "You don't understand. I got scared because I wanted to say it to you too. I love you, Nick."
One minute, we're talking but the next thing I knew, she towards me. For a second I though whether kissing her would break the wonderful spell we were under. But it was a little too late. When her lips met mine, I knew that I could live a million years & travel the whole world but nothing would compare that single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams & knowing that my love for her would last forever.
