  • I still prefer Frank Delaney's Ulysses podcast. I've read that book 14 years ago and started reading it again (for pleasure this time). If any of you want to get a sentence by sentence interpretation of Ulysses, definately check it out

  • Thinking through my eyes...

Ah, sigh. It is wonderful hearing it spoken. The philosophic depth of the novel is nothing to its pure sonority and poeticality which is only captured with a voice... doubly so with a lilting Irish brogue (although the voice modulates frequently).

  • One of my favourite books. So beautiful...

  • I love this bit. There's a bit about a dog on the beach, perhaps in the same section, where the prose is so deft I no longer care about plot or agenda or anything other than pure craft.

  • My favourite book of all time with "under the volcano" in second.

  • It is telling about current literacy that you have no responses. This was a nice reminder of some lines I also have rattling about in my memory. Another I like is "languid floating flower" from when Bloom is laying in the bath. Such a great novel.
