This was a 3-day getaway to the beautiful deparetement of Provence in southern France. Caught the first flight out of Munich to Nice, picked up the rental car and hit the road - first day included the spectacular Verdon Gorge and an overnight stay in the lavender fields near the tiny village of Saint-Jurs. The next day we criss-crossed around the region using backroads only, drove up to the Mont Ventoux and stopped along the way to watch the Germany-Argentina world cup match. After an overnight stay in Vallon Pont d'Arc and an early morning swim under the impressive natural arch spanning the Ardeche river, we cruised back to Nice with short stop overs in Orange and Avignon.
