The rail guided levels in Assault were great, but the free roam and on foot portions were total ass. And the writing was awful. Even if Star Fox 64's Shakespearen scenario wasn't particularly original, it was well done and enjoyable over this...spontaneous, cliche ridden mess.

So I don't get what the big deal is about both teams talking casually for once. FREAKING ONCE. Quit whining about it, this hardly ever happens, no one is making you watch rivals/nemesises converse casually .

I kind of wish Nintendo would take the Starfox franchise a little more seriously. During this entire scenario, Starfox and StarWolf are conversing like comrades. What is this? They should be doing this grudgingly, and they should be insulting each other. "Nicely done, Fox." What? How about:
"Good, one step closer to getting this pathetic worm of a pilot off my wing."
