  • he lies, no substance in that interview, a wast of time. :(

  • McCain has no intentions of leaving Iraq. When he said 100 years, he meant it.

How poor do Americans want to get? Iraq is slowly sinking us, like a bad mortgage.

  • John MCCain is a nice man who is terribly out of touch with our needs. His gas holiday gimmick was sad. (It would have put about 5000 American road workers on "vacation" to accommodate it at a time when our infrastructure is in peril -- remember the bridge collapse in Minneapolis last August?) However, his off the cuff comment about when troups can come home as "unimportant" is far worse... and it's one more important reason to stay far away from him this fall.

  • In the end, I think what all Americans want is a peaceful solution where we can hold our heads up high, admit we made some mistakes, and get our priorities straight. Because no matter how many times we hear from this administration "we fight them over there, so we don't have to fight them in our streets," McCain's policies will not directly bring about the meaningful peace to resolve that threat. We must take a look at OUR "streets" and realize the domestic issues are the more pressing threat.

  • I have to agree with you there. It drives me nuts that we still have people stationed in the countries you mentioned. I just feel like his comments are being blown out proportion. He really should have chose his words better.

  • not exactly... mccain's plan doesn't involve bringing all the troops home. if he had it his way, he would build the biggest american base (similar the u.s. embassy) right smack dab in the middle of baghdad and have troops permanently stationed there (like we have in Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia... etc). Do you really think we need ANOTHER American base in the middle east?!

  • He's simply pointing out how important it is to get them home safely and choose the right time. Not the best choice of words but listen to what he says.

  • it's not important when the troops can come home?!

  • Whether or not he does what he says and says what he does...

  • yada yada yada...softball interview, what a sham.

  • There is substance, he said he wouldnt drill in Alaska. That is very progressive.
