@luvashy03 ...so, yeah, dogfish (or bowfin, whatever you prefer) are a big problem in the more northern states. they are an extremely invasive species and a huge pest (at least in Michigan). they might be fun to catch, but we Michigan anglers have pretty good reasons for despising these fish. i know a lot of anglers, and not a one of them prefers to release these nasties back into the water if they have the choice. it may not be right, but it's actually better for the ecology where we fish.

@luvashy03 they may not eat as much as a pike, but they will kill larger fish that a pike of the same size would only attack for defensive purposes. plus, bowfin spawn several times throughout the year, causing their population within a body of water to grow very rapidly. this forces other large gamefish to have to relocate other areas of the lake that might be less habitable. might not be a big deal in the south, but bass don't get as big here in MI, making them an easier target....

@spitfirecs420 I think it's Lilly Lake in Harrison, Clare county!! That looks like the boat launch where my kids and I would doc fish. Hope the uploader will let us know!!

Hmmm, I'm wondering if this is Lilly Lake in Harrison? Just let me know if I'm right or wrong please.

that dogfish doesn't eat or kill nearly as much or as often as a pike and i don't hear you talking shit about them. your a fuckin peace of redneck shit for treating those fish like that and spreading that trash about them . if i see you doing that to a bowfin on the water i will crack your jaw.

Burbot. Cod-like fresh water fish. Taste like Lobster! Eat the same thing other predatory fish eat.
