Missions trips change lives. The 2008 mission trip to Guatemala was no exception.

In November 2008 a group of volunteers from Journey Christian Church joined together with Health Talents International for a medical missions trip to Guatemala. 30 cataract patients, who were legally blind, received sight after surgery. Several other patients were evaluated and many donated eye glasses were distributed to those in need.

The volunteers also ventured out in teams to rural villages to provide medial services and distribute roughly 50,000 vitamin supplements. The vitamins will help battle malnourishment, which is a wide-spread problem in the rural communities. Toothbrushes and oral hygiene demonstrations were also provided to the people who came from miles to visit the mobile clinics.

About 100 kids, both from the rural villages and church next to the medical compound, experienced vacation bible school. The kids enjoyed games, lessons and spending time with the volunteers.
