I thk DC reincarnated blk vulcan into STATIC SHOCK!
-
@Ebonyleopard El Dorado was my favorite new edition to the team. His costume just rocked.
-
@da112568 Well, except for El Dorado, they showed up in the JLU cartoon. It was a fanboy moment, once I realized who the Ultimen were.

You gotta give it to DC (and Marvel can learn from them) they sure know how to give fans an in depth history of their characters and properties. I would love to see featurettes of Marvel history like this. I don't care what anybody says tough, Black Vulcan, Samurai, and Apache Chief are still some of my favorite cartoon superheroes and I wish they were adapted to the comics (though Black Vulcan is basically Black Lightning).
-
Black Vulcan was created as a pastiche of Black Ligthning, because they had some issues about royalties over the character between DC and the characters creator, Tony Isabella back then.
-
I always liked Black Vulcan , I thought he looked pretty cool. Now that I'm older I see a Black man in a Pro-Am Dance uniform with a Lightning bolt pointing too his Penis.
But I still love it. Great Memories. Saturday Morning didn't get much more fun.

"brute force injection of minority characters." Sounds like Sunset Strip Hair Metal! Haha!
-
@TheCastellan Do you know the name of that episode?
I recall seeing that episode, and just about all other Super Friends on Cartoon Network late ninties. Back in the day when CartoonNetwork was excellent. Now all on the gold cartoons are on Boomrang.

Yep. Superman was made into the tinman, Wonder woman into the cowardly lion, and Aquaman into the scarecrow.
I wish. Black Vulcan,Samurai,Apache Chief and El-Dorado had some kind of history about themselves, explaining about their powers. It would be great if DC comics do something with these characters instead of them going to waste. I think. Black Vulcan is a very good character.

Yeah and that's my big beef: How come they can talk about Civil rights concerning primarily Afro-Americans but then forget the fight of Cesar Chavez who first said Yes We Can in Spanish as Si Se Puede? Isn't that kind of reverse gentrification, pushing out Latin-Americans? What about Asians? Alot of Vietnamese were adopted by GI's like the Chinese Hongs were in Lethal Weapon 4 by Danny Glover's Murtaugh. How come we now only see one face in the whole "colored" spectrum? Superfriends showed all.
