The Nicaraguan Guilders Association ("ANP" Asociacion Nicaraguense del Puro) was formed in 2007 and includes 95% of all tobacco manufacturers, processors, and farmers throughout the main tobacco regions of the country. The participating manufacturers include the following Cigar Factories: Padron Cigars; Joya de Nicaragua; Placensia Tobaccos; Oliva Cigar Family; My Father Cigars (Pepin Garcia); Rocky Patel (Tabacalera Villa Cuba, S.A); Scandinavian Tobacco Group; N.A.C.S.A; AJ Fernandez Cigars; San Rafael Tobaccos; GK; and Drew Estate Tobacco Company.

The objectives of the Guilders are far reaching and include:

The representation of this historical artisan sector between the Nicaraguan government and International governments by creating stability to the industry through promotion of cultivation and manufacturing, as well as securing the vast job base that is so critical to Nicaragua;

Promoting the image of Nicaraguan cigars and tobaccos through strengthening the names of the cigar manufacturers and growers in the global market;

Certifying the quality of products made by companies and individuals in Nicaragua to the global market;

Promote cooperative relations with the public and private institutions within Nicaragua, as well as the international agencies, both public and private, through indicating the technical training of employees at all levels of the sector;

Identifying and suggesting desired changes in laws, decrees, and regulations governing tobacco production, processing, and distribution; and

Creation of legal mechanisms to vigilantly defend members' intellectual property rights, brand trademarks, and export records.

Special Note -- The Nicaraguan Guilders Association proudly includes both family owned businesses and multinational companies, each of which have selected Nicaragua due to the world class tobacco and extraordinary people who make this agro-trade possible.
