Highlights of the creation of 'Gaia, 2009', a carved moose antler and bronze moose skull sculpture, the last in Shane Wilson's 'Skullpture Series' for the Haines Junction Permanent Art Collection. This moose antler carving and bronze is inspired by the Gaia theory that the earth is alive, propounded by James Lovelock. A positive future is envisaged in the symbolism of this sculpture, one in which human beings survive global climate change and become symbiotic with the earth, bringing Gaia to consciousness.
@pinner9876 I have offered courses in the past, but nothing planned right now. I have an In Progress page on my website which shows step by step images and notes from some of my carvings.
