This is a brief compilation of 18 tenors singing the C# above tenor C. It is a VERY difficult note to sing, many tenors have a C but no C#. Remember though, this is a note that Luciano Pavarotti once described as a 'sound that should be coming from an animal, not a human' and as you should know... a tenor should not be rated by his C#. This video is just for fun.
Please do the following!:
-Have a go at trying to name all the tenors.
-State who is your King of the high C# and more importantly, WHY.
-You could also state your least favourite.(The jester of the high C# if you wish :P)
Have fun!
I'll message you the answers after you've had a go.
Don't look at other peoples' guesses or cheat, it kills the fun.

I can't read music, but am reading Webster Booth's joint autobiography and am curious to know to just how this note sounds. I'm not sure if I'm any further forward, but some of them here are very impressive!
Pavarotti has been and will always be the best. The way his throat opens, tongue relaxed in his mouth, breathing technique and sustained by a strong diaphragm...it makes all the others pale in comparison.
If you are interested, you can listen to my versions. I have 2 videos with high c sharp,I sing it in the cadenza in La donna e mobile. Also I think my high D flat is strong in the duett from Rigoletto.Marked, great high d flat , karifrid . (Addio.) My name is Kári Friðriksson, tenor from Iceland.
