What happened? You didn't get a higher Dan than you thought you deserved? To say that Saotome Sensei is bullshit I guess you must be pretty sure of your Aikido. Please post a video of yourself, I am so curious to admire your beautiful Aikido.

@molitatron Ehh take a throw from him. When he throws you you move, you can either take the ukemi or faceplant.

So ,maybe someone can explain it to me, but why do aikido practitioners literally throw themselves, when they could stay up and ready? I know, sometimes the jump is necessary in order not to get one of your joints screwed, but thats not the case all the time. It seems a truly beautiful martial art filled with harmony, but im also interested in being able to defend myself and those I care about. Could aikido truly help me there?

Hmm, I'm 22 and I take Aikido...am I an old fart? Sorry I just don't see the appeal of having my face smashed in. I've taken a few throws from Saotome shihan, and it is by NO means for old farts! I've been thrown ten feet through the air by the "old farts", the older they are the more they can throw you!
