Green Energy Hypocrisy: "California's wind farms kill more than 80 Eagles per year and thousands of other birds daily, prompting calls by environmental groups for better wind power management......." (Fox News Video Description)
AS REPORTED by William La Jeunesse of FOX NEWS from Tehachapi, California, on August 16, 2011:
http://video.foxnews.com/v/1113088230...

Also refer to WALL STREET JOURNAL ARTICLE of 9/7/2009:
"WINDMILLS ARE KILLING OUR BIRDS"
(One standard for oil companies, another for green energy sources)
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001...

This is infuriating! We can close a river to protect one fish and rope off a forest to protect one owl, but when it comes to BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, we have no problem sacrificing THOUSANDS of birds including protected ones without any consequences. What total and disgusting hypocrisy by the promoters of 'clean green' energy! :(

NOW READ THIS NEWS ARTICLE (1/4/2012):

"FEDS PROPOSE ALLOWING WIND-FARM DEVELOPER TO KILL GOLDEN EAGLES"

The federal government is proposing to grant a first-of-its-kind permit that would allow the developer of a central Oregon wind-power project to legally kill golden eagles, a regulatory move being closely watched by conservationists...

For every windmill about 1-2birds are killed each year. To put that into context about 57 million birds die each year fron collision with vehicles, 1.25millin from collisions with tall buildings, 97.5 million from collision with plate glass and the ordinary pet cat kills about 100 million birds each year. All of this in the US only! Are you maybe advocating genocide of kittens and cats aswell? And ONE 1.8MW windmill can, in a good location, generate electricity for over 1000 homes..

@MrZimzim: I'm not arguing with your stats -- wildlife and man's technology are in conflict everywhere. This video was just to raise some awareness that windmills are not 100% environmentally "friendly". As to the feline culprits in unnecessary bird deaths: it would be nice if the neighbors kept their well-fed killing machines inside when the birds are breeding (as is required by law here in theory).

Oh well we live in an imperfect world where every living thing competes for living space...

-- Actually, the blades create what's caused a 'sheer' image. The birds can't seem them when they're turning, even though they don't turn very fast. As well, most raptors are focussed on the ground looking for prey. They're not looking straight ahead of them.

Birds of prey need a huge area to hunt and swoop down onto there prey. They are like your 747 jumbo airlines that just cannot pull up and change course.

I take that back....PETA are fuking eco-terrorists who would rather see pets euthanized or killed on the spot then give them a good home.

PETA is NOT an organization that protects animals, THEY ARE ECO-TERRORISTS who don't mind killing kitten or puppies or ANY animal that comes to them.

Look them up, they receive MILLIONS in donations and have BIG SALARIES, while at the same time they kill any pet that comes to them.

PETA are truly the 1% that OWS crowd was bitching about, wake up people....

Yeah we already have the best solution: the sun is the biggest power plant especially made for us on earth. But this doesn't save the existing "energy giants". They want to survive the crisis. They don't want autonomic customers.

They are ruining the solar companies at the moment. Wind energy is expensive and good for the expansion of energy monopolists.

The wind machines are built by the same undustries as the nuclear power plants.

Only solar energy makes people independent. In Europe small solar companies are consistently wiped away from the markets. Every coast looks like a horror because of the big "windmills". Now they take the last countryside and nice view and call the birds: polluter.

I live in California City CA. My grandparents live in Mojave, close to the windmills. like 600 feet from them. WE CAN HEAR THEM!!!!! They are running animals out of there homes. Where do those animals go? In our backyard, looking for somewhere to live and feel safe. There are old windmills farther back and those are leaking oil. when these newer ones start leaking, and they use more oil, its going to be a diaster!!! What do all those windmill loving people say to that? I dought they even know!!!

We have turbines not far from our house and Birds are the least of the problems. Bat's are also being killed at a large rate, not by the blades but by the atmospheric pressure changes that cause their lungs to explode. You also have to look at the people that are physically ill because, of the turbine's.

This is disgusting, im disgusted by the progressives telling us about HARMLESS renewable energy.

Where are all the Democrats and environmentalists up in arms about this ??????

It seems the rules dont apply to them, allowing thousands of animals to perish in order to set their agenda. Their move from coal/oil to renewables is just power grabbing and financial.

I am a true animal lover, these progressives and environmentalists are sick and lying individuals with no empathy for the deaths.
