Man overboard drill while taking basic keel boat at Olympic Circle Sailing Club. We are sailing on a J24 with 8-12 knots (about 15 mph) wind, blowing from the southwest.
I though you pickup windward, otherwise the MOB could be flattened by the boat. However, a pick up leeward could be better in a dingy where the MOB can climb easier into the cockpit. Good handling otherwise!

@jobooker the boat protects MOB against the waves and the wind, when picking him up to leeward.

Why pick him up on the leeward side? Isn't it safer to pick him up to windward instead, so you don't drift over your MOB?
