Man overboard drill while taking basic keel boat at Olympic Circle Sailing Club. We are sailing on a J24 with 8-12 knots (about 15 mph) wind, blowing from the southwest.

  • I though you pickup windward, otherwise the MOB could be flattened by the boat. However, a pick up leeward could be better in a dingy where the MOB can climb easier into the cockpit. Good handling otherwise!

  • @jobooker the boat protects MOB against the waves and the wind, when picking him up to leeward.

  • Why pick him up on the leeward side? Isn't it safer to pick him up to windward instead, so you don't drift over your MOB?

  • nice and accurate sail handling
