es hat 14 Millionen für Sachsen gekostet. Und eine bessere Werbekampagne (weltweit!!) für Dresden hätte es nicht geben können!

Besides the non-important but rather big garrison town Dresden hosted very many German refugees from the east and Europe's largest and most camera factories which were almost all compleley destroyed, different to the garrison town. So much about for the military meaning. There is a bit consensus about 18,000-25,000 deaths because people usually survived in cellars and a power-demonstration to the Soviet Union with the air-strikes. Right Wings will tell about 50,000 up to 700,000 death toll.
