**NOTE** THIS PROMO WAS MADE BEFORE ANY ENGLISH DUBBING WAS DONE.
DiC's Sailor Moon Syndication Promotional Tape
This tape was sent to TV stations to pitch Sailor Moon as The Next Big Thing.
It's a horrid display of shameless corporate advertising.
You can tell that DiC sent out the video before any real work was done on the localization. Notice the Sailor Scout's names!! This is aweful!!

  • Blast! where's the SMA parody of this?

  • "Boys will love the non-stop action" LOL more like boys will love the fact that they're school girls in skirts giving superkicks XD XD

  • LOL! The names, voices, just makes me laugh, especially since they dubbed the names better in the actual dub. Victoria? Blue? Sara? Dana? Carrie? The Masked Tuxedo? XD Thank God I didn't see this ad or else I might not have even watched Sailor Moon. Ok I probably would have, but I woulda been soooo confused!

  • @ChibiDarkGirl Yeah, and I love how they don't even try and be discrete about it in the video.

  • LOL! this is so funny!

  • I love how it's all about the money and sales.

  • @moviefanjilly1 I don't quite understand what you mean. The anime was produced and originally released in Japan, and brought over to the US a few years later. I was commenting on the dated-ness of this promo, if that helps. (And I didn't know what anime was until early 2000, so I feel ya.)

  • Why would anyone care about the Dub version? Back then, Internet was not around, how would we watch the Japanese version? I mean, USA's main language is English DUH

  • @Selenagomes78 I use to love Sailor Moon too
