My friend Ed Thigpen---I got to see him a few years ago with ''The whole Drum truth'' GREAT show,Tootie Heath,Ben Riley,and Jackie Williams----4 drummers!! I got them all to sign a drumhead!!

Holy Hell!!
Billy was not widely known in terms of big commercial success or recognition outside the Jazz and academic world....which just goes to show what a mediocracy we live in.
Oh, well - some of us can enjoy and appreciate while we're around.
PS: That host could brighten up a room....just by leaving it.
