  • I miss you Billy! R.I.P

  • Holy fuck i just recognized that this is improvised ...

  • My friend Ed Thigpen---I got to see him a few years ago with ''The whole Drum truth'' GREAT show,Tootie Heath,Ben Riley, and Jackie Williams----4 drummers!! I got them all to sign a drumhead!!

  • what seperates this man from bach or beethoven? his instrumental style is mastered and every note is perfect. mastered

  • Ain't that the chord changes to Sweet Georgia Brown?

  • Damnit, I miss this guy already. Rest in peace, Billy.

  • Holy Hell!!

Billy was not widely known in terms of big commercial success or recognition outside the Jazz and academic world....which just goes to show what a mediocracy we live in.

Oh, well - some of us can enjoy and appreciate while we're around.

PS: That host could brighten up a room....just by leaving it.

  • As a drummer trying to learn jazz bass, listing to Billy's left hand is really instructive.

  • Steaming!

  • I am in awe.... thanks Jazz Guy!
