Barefoot running (Pose method)
Last year, I uploaded this video footage in much better quality (see "More from Thjeko"; "Running different paces, (pose)"). It starts with a fast run on Puma H-streets.
In the video messages you can find another, more recent and better quality video footage of barefoot (minimalistic shoe) running.

BTW; This vid was one of my first vids uploaded on youtube. I used it to check on my efforts to improve my running technique (Pose) and had it analyzed by pose experts via the poseforum on the posetech website.
Pose method teaches movement and it sees running as a skill of movement and not just something that comes naturally to us. Unfortunately we (well most of us) lost the natural skill of running efficiently long time ago. If the skill of barefoot running is on your wish list, you might consider to look into the pose method of running. It will help you to transition your running from shod to barefoot (or minimalistic shoe wear) in a safe way.

  • im from mississippi and this is a common everything to do, i walk around outside by my bayou barefoot all day. I never knew that there was a technique to run without shoes, YANKS!

  • @JeMzZ360 Hi JeMmZ, barefoot walking and running was NOT a common and natural thing for me. Via Posemethod (not a technique actually but a method that teach efficient running), I changed my heel striking way of running to a way of running that allowed me to land closer under the body, run faster and with less change of injuries. Barefoot running became quite easy after that. I made this vid to check out my running technique with my coach. Lucky you to the be a natural happy barefootrunner ;-).

  • One piece of advice : Sports bra..

  • @karenasian1 That's it! Best advice ever. Thank you so much!!!

  • Im just looking for an answer, i have a condition in which my arch colapses when i run and since the vibrams have no arch support will this be more harm than good?

ANYONE - i will take input from anyone just send me a message, Thanks

  • @WhyBeBullet Hi, If you just start running without any concern about distance, duration and speed it will definitely harm you as your feet will not be able to cope with the forces in the right manner. If you want to run barefoot you need to strenghten your feet and lowerlegs gradually to prepare them for their "new job". I would also recommend you to look into the pose method of running to ensure good running technique which will help you to stay out of the injury zone.

    Good luck!

  • AWSOME...I WANNA TRY~

  • corre malissimo

  • @JeMzZ360 Well it's one of those things that if you've done since childhood, there is nothing for you to adapt to. But if you're city folk and your soft feet have been sheltered from nature because we wear shoes, there's a bit of learning to do. When you learn how to do this as a child, you don't have any "bad habits" to "fix" because you started out walking barefoot and know what is comfortable.

  • I bought the Vibram five fingers sprint or something the black with yellow sole inside and I bought them early in september and I have only used them 5-10 times since then. Since it's ugly wheather now I can't really run outside but sometimes I can run on my grandmas threadmill. I really want to become lightning quick !!!! I have bought a program which strengtens some of the thigh muscles and it helps alot. How can Vibram help me? I always feel a minor pain in my little toe after I've used them

  • @JeMzZ360 haha! funny right?

  • thats a Wrong pose

  • @WhyBeBullet @WhyBeBullet just start out slow and google "arch strengthening exercises" or something of that nature. you can slowly start to build your arch muscle back but supporting it will only encourage weakness. it needs to be woken up and worked out :) but slowly. I guess it's been awhile now, did you figure anything out?
