A Sharp-Shinned Hawk ate another bird in our backyard. Those are the feathers of the other bird on the grass in front of him... Or what is left of the other bird. Sorry about the camera shake, I am actually holding the camera up to a pair of Binoculars. Here is the entry for the Hawk: Sharp-shinned Hawks are shy and retiring. They usually hunt from inconspicuous perches in wodded areas for small birds, their primary prey, shich are captured after a vrief, rapid chase. They are fond of catching birds at feeders and often collide with picture windows. they also hunt by coursing over or through the woods hoping to suprise their prey. Length 9-13 inches, Wingspread 20-26 inches, Weight 3-8 ounces.
