  • What everyone didn't know is 10 minutes later and another 8100 rpm rev the engine blew to pieces. There is a red line for a reason even though these cars keep going, it doesn't mean you should.

  • @pimbuk youobviously dont know much about 12a rotaries. the internal seals are good until 8,500 rpm's and give out of over revving past that. 13b rotaries dont like anything over 8.

  • i heard most mechanics wont touch a rotary...any truth behind this?

  • @S13noGRIP most wont but usually you can find a shop that specializes in imports and they usually will. but that's only when it comes to engine repairs, but the engines rarely ever have problems as long as you dont overheat it and keep up on your oil levels and changes.

  • @83rx7TT my dad has a rx7 87 with those seals

  • @S13noGRIP its better to just learn em yourself and do all your own work anyway. the ones that will touch em probably havent seen many and may mess it up worse than you could have. its YOUR car and that means 99% of the time youll take the time to do it right the first time. Theyre not that hard. no cams to time, no valves to adjust, just an eccentric shaft and 2 big ass triangles spinning around

  • @angelrx785 good point.

  • @starletburkie that rx7 is stock dude and has more than 27 year with that motor go wacth what a brindgeported rotary with 650 cfm carb can do rx7 owns yo

  • @abominableaussieman you totally rigth man rotary power is build over 3.5k rev normally and get even more powerful at 5k and up and yes always redline ya rotary once a day like go 700 rpm to 8,000rpm on first then shift to 4th gear and drive like normal since 1st at 7500rpm is 75 km/h

  • @insipidtomato uh.. they have problems... they are rotaries, they are powerful, and rev high, but the wear points on them are weak and crucial. you can get twice the life at least out of a regular engine than a rotary. (forgive the spelling)

  • The apex seals are not designed to go to 8500 rpms. At that RPM they chatter. This is due to them being made from cast iron. Now im not saying its bad, But prolong redline will kill the motor. From chattering and flexing of the E-shaft. I red line my 83 just about everyday. But that is a quick redline after its warm and that's to prevent carbon build up. Which everyone with a wankel will know kills the motor.

  • Point is, its an 85 with a 1.1 liter 100 hp engine dick.

  • My 88 300zx hits 60 in second at 5500 rpms

  • BEAST!
