Linn LM-1 tape synced to Roland MC-4b which in turn controls System 100 101 keyboard CV/Gate and DIN sync Tr-606.The pattern is loaded from a saved file via Ableton Live connected to the tape backup input on the MC-4.
This is just a 'how to' type of thing as have come across folks trying to integrate these old units into their studios and also wondering how they can back up the patterns on the MC-4b without the mt-100 tape backup unit.

  • did it go out of sync after a few bars?...My Lm-1 will not chase sync anything...I have yet to try it with its own code from tape...or daw

  • @carlheinz It was actually pretty good. Sometimes it lost sync but mostly it locked in for a few minutes, enough for a good jam anyhow. I am gonna try some other ideas but let me know if you get a tight lock from its own code to DAW.

  • you can sync the LM-1 with an SBX-10. How much do Lm-1's cost these days?

  • its cool how all you see is like keys and wires and old equipment and then you pres a button and it like breaks out in this funky beat, thats cool
