Man, that was bad. Any thoughts on why your hand got cought? Nice save

Could you have done a landing flare with the rear risers? I couldn't tell if you had your arm entangled with one or both of the risers. Might have made for a softer landing if the toggles had remained stowed?

You're the kind of guy I try not to drive behind on the freeway when my families in the car...

@MrTimmayc for future reference: dump shitty tubes before opening if you have a well loaded crossbraced canopy. You were lucky that you had a docile canopy this time. Shit happens FAST on velo's and such, the outcome would have been much more painful, fatal maybe even.

I'm not writing this to be critical. I don't get it. How the H*ll did you get your wrist caught in the riser?! The tube was frakked. So, I assume you let it go before deploying. I saw that you tried to unwrap the velcro on your alti. What an unfortunate fluke. Suspension lines wrapped around your alti, preventing you from getting your arm free. What are the odds of that? I hope you heal quickly.

@katyu16 possibly would have been softer if the main didn't tangle up in the reserve and if it didn't turn into a downplane. with a stuck hand, i don't think he had another option (besides plucking a line or two with a hook knife)
Last comment I promise!
I did have a hook knife, and if my mind hadn't been overloading (This was my first "proper" incident even with 800 jumps) and I had used it, then yes, it would've helped. I know that I made a few mistakes, that with hindsight could've helped, but I didn't. I've posted this to show others what can happen and hopefully to help other if they are ever in this situation. I am looking at moving my alti from the wrist mount to top of hand as I'm sure this will remove problem.

More updates!
@ flashvortx - What prevented the full flare was how I grabbed the toggles. I took hold as normal from BEHIND the risers for both. That meant that when I tried to flare, I was pushing the toggles through the gap of the risers and couldn't push down. If I had reached around the front of the risers, then taken the toggles, then I would have had a clear route to flare.
@ Almost everyone! - I did try and take my alti off (Viso) but I just couldn't get to the end of the velco end.

Many updates to write:
@neomutley - Wrist got caught on deployment - chaos factor, I still have no idea, let go when I felt it getting caught. All healed & jumping again thanks.
@ohcanada - Let go earlier! I decided not to deploy reserve as I wasn't sure what would happen to reserve - entangle etc. But would reconsider if I was on a more radical canopy - I was on Sabre2 120.

First of all...you should learn to freefly BEFORE you start jumping tubes! ...this kind of shit is totally avoidable!

@swooop79
Please don't make personal assumptions about me without know who I am or my experience.
I realise that this is totally avoidable and the that is the reason for posting this to YouTube - so that others may learn from my mistakes.
I have over 700 freefly jumps - many with tubes before. I knew what I should've done, but didn't. We all make mistakes, but saying that I can't freefly - well that's just stupid - maybe you should've said "Learn to realise when it's gone wrong", more helpful

@MrTimmayc My apologies if I hurt your feelings, but not once did I see you fly stable in freefall, hence my assumption.

@swooop79
You did see how the tube had inverted itself and wasn't flying properly? I'd like to see anyone try and fly that in a stable position
