Using only hot water supplied by solar energy this heat engine pumps up well water from 75 feet down, and generates it's own electricity to charge a battery that runs a small hot water circulating pump.

  • I fail to see why there is not more interest. Im pretty excited about this myself.

  • Thank you. One of the problems has been the cost of the metal hydride heat exchangers. Historically they have been very expensive, but in the last few months we have lowered this by a factor of 4 to under $5 per watt (electric). Our goal is <$0.20 per watt in large scale mass production.

  • ok am i the only one or did that sound insanely creepy

  • This system is too expensive,

    need other alaternatives...

  • How much does it cost?

  • Large scale mass production for .20 cents per watt would require how much money to finance such a project?

  • I think there is plenty of interest. However, looking at this water flow, Which is minor, It seems PV would be a more efficient and conventional way to do this. Of course, the PV panels get hot, and the use of the heat energy would improve overall system efficiency.

  • "<$0.20 per watt..."

Im sure you will get there. I must learn more about this.

    Thank you

    VoE
