In 2002, I moved to Cincinnati to work for Playhouse in the Park, nationally renowned for being one of the best theatres in the country. I arrived that June not knowing anyone or anything about the region. Since then, Cincinnati has undergone an amazing Renaissance - from the construction of the Freedom Center, ball parks and Contemporary Arts Center to the revitalization of Fountain Square and the long-awaited commencement of the Banks project. But what has also taken hold is a young professional revolution - what started as less than a half dozen YP groups has turned into a community of 55 organizations and thousands of men and women wanting to make a difference.
When I got asked to make this video in support of Cincinnati's bid to host the 2009 Next Leaders Summit, it was a no-brainer. With its vibrant venues, dynamic arts and enterainment and inspiring people, Cincinnati is the obvious choice to host this annual conference of young professionals. I got to work with a flip video camera and looked to Cameron Knight for his fantastic editing skills.
So, consider this video my love song (power ballad) to the adopted home that has given me so much. Cincinnati is truly a City That Rocks.
