I find it quite annoying that the US think they can moralize other countries about freedom and democracy. To me, they have lost this right as they are no model in those areas considering Guantanamo detention camp, US patriot act, illegal kidnapping, detention and torturing by CIA agents, the number of countries they have destabilized either by supporting coup or providing material support or by invasion.

I have relatives in Aleppo arrested and jailed for years under Hafez. You probably a scared Christian or ungrateful Armenian. Because complete democracy =/= Western-style democracy. Complete democracy is an unrealistic situation (and by the same token, so is complete autocracy).

I also don't approve of the "why not be like us?" tone. Because they can't, and we can't be like them. And that's fine, because there's no "one way" to run things.
