This is one way to make a fishing spear to be used with a bow, or by hand. This example uses Bamboo (better to use dried bamboo whereas this video shows 'green' bamboo which will dry with time).

  • how many uses you get out of each before the tips break ?

  • @36drifterboy Not many. It depends on the strength and diameter of the bamboo, as well as how much it is dried ahead of time.

  • Nice spear. But the wedges wont pass through the fish. Fix this by taking a thicker piece of bamboo , make 8 prongs and slide a wide sharpened stick through the middle allowing it to pass through.

  • will bamboo grow in a place where it has cold winters. should i even plant it here. i hear its invasive

  • aim low
