This video shows my current Basement arcade. I call it the Game Pit. Currently I have 5 Cabs, 2 soda machines, and a toy pinball machine. I've made room for some more games and hopefully soon will have this space filled with more 80's arcade goodness.

  • your transformer for the lights is bad id replace it i dont know how i could stand that high pitch whine

  • @IRONMAIDENFAN2006

The transformer is fine. It is an outdoor version that is louder than the battery powered indoor versions. It isn't that loud in person the flip camera mic seems to amplify that frequency.

  • I haven't seen a Star Castle for sale so I grabbed it. The Space Invaders had a cap kit installed and 2 weeks later it looks like it does. Think the cap kit caused something else to go. Was thinking the EA would just get a new monitor. I hear Wells has one for $145.

I've heard both good and bad about blacklight.

  • where did you get the alternating neon from? id like to put some in my arcade basement

  • woah nice plus nice and dark

  • it seems as though the moving neon lights are causing a high pitched squeal. Doesnt that drive you crazy? It did me just watching this video. I love the blacklights, I do the same thing but i do use a couple of red lights in the corners here and there. I love the old arcade/movie theatre space neon glowing floor. There is a star castle on craigslist Seattle right now for 200.00, sounds like your somewhere on the east coast by your accent though.

  • very nice collection!

  • Hey, another Star Castle fanatic! I paid too much for mine also, but it was my first machine so I didn't know better.

Bob Roberts has a cap kit for the Space Invaders that might help. Easy to install on this game since the chassis is seperate from the CRT and slides out the back door.

A recap of Elevator Action's monitor might help there as well.

Nice arcade! I've heard blacklights can cause eye damage so you probably should have some normal incandescant lighting in there also.

  • having a hard time letting your childhood go?
