  • Man, are you sure your crossfire was activated? It says that 2gpu is 0% load, and those very low framerates make me almost sure that your crossfire was off

  • @kopros83 Crossfire doesn't work with Shogun 2. And I had learned later that with Crossfire disabled you get more than double FPS than I got here. Although the official drivers at the time stated they had Crossfire support this is all it did, half used one GPU and didnt used the second GPU. It's an issue with the game and Crossfire.

  • @mmstick I have to disagree here.. basically because I have used 2 crossfire setups (6870 and 6970) with this gamne, and they both worked.

Yes, this game is really bad optimized, and will bottleneck your cpu no matter what, but crossfire indeed works, and indeed increases your fps. Trust me, I have tried monitorizing while ingame, and gpu did load and fps increased by 60-80% (but where still low compared to what it should be)

  • @kopros83 If Crossfire works then what driver does it work with? It only ended up with less FPS in this game, other games worked fine in Crossfire. However, I no longer have my second 6850 because I gave it away to my girlfriend so it doesn't really matter if it works. I'd rather not visit a forum to obtain technical help or learn how to optimize when they can't give me information better than what I already know since I'm a certified tech. The best is just Processor Lasso it really.

  • @mmstick Hey. I didn't suggest you don't know anything about tech, I just said that they are experts in that kind of games (TW saga), which we all know is quite special (buggy, unstable sometimes), so they can tell you which driver works better for your setup for that game, or if you have to tweak any graphical setting because is either broken/buggy, etc.

I worked with 11.6 onwards, and I found better driver was 11.6b hotfix combined with latest catalyst profiles for crossfire.

  • @kopros83 as far as I'm concerned the game runs perfect without crossfire on maxed settings with everything enabled. Nothing to optimize as it is already in it's most optimized state. I can confirm though that drivers 11.3-11.8 did not work with my setup in this game, even though Shogun 2 realized that there was two graphics cards as seen from in game options it did not utilize them better than single card mode.

  • @mmstick Well, some games are quite buggy with xfire setups, and TW games definetely are. Just make sure you had latest catalyst profiles for crossfire, they improved a lot xfire compatibility with his game.

That said, this game had given me a lot of headaches, seriously.

  • @kopros83 Also, idk if you already did, but try this graphical configuration, disable SSAO, turn shadows to medium, aax4 and afx8. We have found that those settings have a dramatical impact in performance, because of bad optimization. It's sad, but we can't just max the game smoothly unless we OC the hell out of the cpu.

Anyway, I never intended to suggets you don't know about comps, but I have just found that those games are quite tricky to work with

  • @kopros83 Also, I would recommend you visit totalwarcenter forums, they can advise you about technical help and how to optimize your game and help you in any doubt regarding the game/drivers issues.

But seriously, crossfire does work with this game, trust me. In fact, it is optimized for (and publicited by) AMD.

  • @mmstick i know that XD LOL
