My ex-husband was in Vietnam '69-70 (Army). I met him in SF when he returned to the states. Atmosphere like nothing I'd ever experienced. Never forgot it. Peace.

Talk about your polarity of man. When this song became popular, hippies went to San Francisco and Marines went to Vietnam. I didn't get to San Francisco and Height Ashbury until after the war.
