My plan would look like eliminating all taxes on earned incomes from labor and real capital investment and shift all of that taxation onto land value and the income from land. The reason for this is that land value is created 100% by the community through increase of population and provision of public services at all levels of government. Taxing land values and income from land and natural resources does not tax anything anyone does. It is the natural source of revenue for public purposes.

the gentleman that said the Fair Tax would be Charley Rangel's dream has not truly read the Fair Tax. included in the bill is the repeal of the 16th amendment, and for those of you not aware that was the amendment that gave us the income tax in all it's glory. once that amendment is repealed, who would ever let them reinstitute an income tax???? GO MIKE HUCKABEE

cheriepony, could you help me find some info on when Mike Huckabee started his platform for getting rid of the IRS?
I'll be honest here ans say I am a Ron Paul supporter. And Ron Paul has been on the "get rid of the IRS" stance for his entire career. If Ron drops out I have a concern if Huckabee is simply pandering.

Question for Evangelical Christians:
Is there anything in Ron Paul's message that you believe is inconsistent with Christianity?

Id say a more sinister version of Reagan would certainly be inconsistent in and of it's self.

Well what specifically is it about Reagan?
And I guess there is also a fairly big spectrum in the class of Christian. So I would like to understand the belief and how it goes against it. As fas as I understood Regan was the one to bring out a lot of Christians to vote, when it was usually encouraged by religious leaders in the past to not get involved in secular politics.

My plan would look like the one Ron Paul talks about. It would look like replacing it with "nothing"! Not "fiddling" with the tax code or replacing it with anything like another tax plan we couldn't get out of. I don't call the "Fair Tax" any more fair or balanced. We already have more taxes than WE need or can handle just to feed the fed's counterfeiting scheme.

I say "replace it with nothing"!

I like Ron Paul's ideas about eliminating the IRS, but he also emphasizes that we need to cut spending dramatically, starting with the US military empire.

Uhh...Dick? There is only one candidate who can answer your questions honestly.
Come on, you know his name as well as I do...
He's from YOUR great state of Texas!
Ron Paul 2008
