  • did the driver get hurt or did he abandone ship? "truck".

  • He took off running seconds before the train hit.

  • train came around the corner maybe 10 minutes after the truck got stuck.

  • did the truck try to beat the train?

  • nope. He got stuck on the tracks with the low-boy trailer.

    You must check to see if you can cross that raised right-of-way.

    If you get high-centered, you call 9-1-1 and try to get dispatch to contact the railroad and stop any trains before that crossing.

    Then place lighted flares in the center of the track hundreds of yards down the track in each direction.

    I have railroad emergency numbers stored in my cell phone.

  • In southern California railroad crossing emergency numbers are painted right on the sides of the silver signal equipment enclosures at the crossings.
