Sam Hunter (Left) vs. Mykael Lambert (Right) fencing epee at the Ottawa Shield tournament on February 6th, 2010. The fencers were well matched, and this was an insane battle right to the end. Unfortunately my camera was running low on memory, so I couldnt catch all the action. The first three minute round ended in a tie, and went on to round 2. At the very end of round 2, Lambert scored a point, bringing him ahead by one. One second from the end of that round an invalid point was struck bringing the match to a halt with Lambert at the end of the piste ahead by one point, one second from victory. But as soon as the clock started for the last second, Hunter jumped in and got the hit, tying the game and bringing it in to round 3. Another highlight of the match was near the end, where the fencers were tied at 13/13 and Lambert scored a point. It looked like a valid hit and the judge gave Lambert the point, but Lambert called out that the point was actually not valid, which astounded the crowd. Hunter went on to win.
