SOUTHWIND at New Life's "Hear the Sound" / November 29, 2008: http://glenlorn.multiply.com/photos/album/295

(Sorry about the audio record imbalance. I could only shoot from where I was seated using a regular digital camera w/ a video feature)

My son David, invited me to this concert with excitement in his eyes. I had to quit tennis, headed home to get my digital camera and proceeded to BF Park.

Indeed, there really was a good reason for me to witness this significant evening of music, Christian witness and fellowship of people coming from different walks of life. I was happy to witness a play performed by the younger generation together with an old friend, Pastor Jeric Soriano, the son of a former friend, Gines Soriano (a.k.a. Nestor de Villa) who has already crossed over to be with the Lord. When we knew each other then, Jovy, Gicky and Jeric were not witnessing yet for the Lord. Jovy had his martial arts, Gicky his ad agency and Jeric his preoccupation with film. A day of golf with Gines somehow announced to me the changes that have been effected in the lives of this family. Now Jovy is a pastor for CCF in Alabang, Jeric at New Life and Gicky in California. When I used to play golf with Nestor, by the time our golf game was over, most of the caddies we had were either converted to Christ or had begun to listen about the beauty of the Christian message . . that Christ truly came down here on earth to give us "New Life". Thanks, David for inviting me to this joyful occasion! Continue to witness for Christ through your music. Nothing can be more important than what your band is doing - - witnessing for Christ. God bless.

Haven't heard the first one yet, so I hope it's still available in the records stores (and not sold out yet) so I can have a copy. Already got one from Dondon's band, so it seems I'll be starting a collection of CDs from my cousins' bands.

  • Yup, that's a good idea Sonny. I'm sure it's still available @ d record stores. Ilan na ang cds nila dondon?

For David... Watched this and other videos of Southwind at YouTube, plus older ones of David. Galing talaga. We're so proud of you! I can understand the quality of the audio recording, but the sound of your screaming fans is loud and clear. (-: Basta don't forget us when you're super sikat na ha. God continue to bless you and your friends, David. Lots of love from the 3Ms.

  • David says, thank you . . handa na raw ninyo ang merienda nya, ha ha.

  • Hi Sonny, lookin' forward to your visit come Christmas. Maybe d 3m's can come up w/ a better sketch to our place in Imus . . showin' both comin' from Zapote and Daang Hari. I prefer the latter before it gets dark. Take care . . don't go to Mumbai, ok?

  • Sonny Rif 9:38 AM- By the way, as you aready know, we'll be coming home this December and plan to visit you and the 3Ms there in Imus. Kinda forgot na how to go there so I have the map (from your Multiply site) printed out. Problem is it's in low res and cannot quite make out the letters. Can you please send me a higher res one? Thanks. Please send my regards to Aunt Lorna and more power to David and his band! -

Uncle, It's good to know about David doing his part in witnessing through his band. And, oh wow! This is the first time I ever saw David in action with his drums (also looked at some of the the other video clips in You Tube as well of the band). Really cool! Now, I'm a new fan of the band (he, he) I heard they're making a new album.

    Thanks for the update Glenn.

New generation...New Life! It's in our children's creativity to discover how to make God known among their peers. Music certainly runs through David's veins. It's a gift. Thank God he's blessing the body of Christ with it.

Take care and God bless, Gicky.
