Scenes from the film Handba' at Kirkwall (1939). The last festival to be held until the end of the war.
Crowds are pushing along the street - the ball is in there somewhere! The dress is casual, some are even smoking, eventually victorious Bill Rory gets the ball to Castle Corner and shows it off to the delighted crowd.

  • I WAS VERY TAKEN WITH THIS CLIP AS I AM MARRIED TO AN ORCADIAN GIRL WHO JUST HAPPENS TO BE THE GRANDAUGHTER OF BILL RORIE,I WAS VERY PRIVLEDGE TO BE ALLOWED TO HANDLE THE BA THAT HE WON IN 1939.
