It's not how big or small a dog is, it's how much love their heart can hold ...
Great Danes are often referred to as the "Heart Break Breed", that for sure is true.
Great Danes are beautiful, majestic, graceful and one of the best companions you will ever have. His name is Marty
he is a super dog and he absolutely loves people. Some facts: In the early circus day, Great Danes were often used to protect Lion and Tiger trainers in a caged den during training, and if things got out of hand, the Great Dane would attack the big cats, giving the trainer time to escape!
They were also used to hunt Wild Boar and take down Bear! Keep in mind they are a "Gentle Giant" but one of the most powerful dog breeds on the planet.

  • Beautiful Great Dane! I had one before ,they are really good dogs! I'm getting another one at the end of this year.

  • @iluvgreatdanes17 Thank You for that comment, I had one before and he lived for 6 years and 6 days, we spent over 7 thousand dollars trying to save his life, but had to make that dreaded decision to let him go. He was my best friend ,and I will never get over him ever! It's been a few years now and I still think about him Every single day. Truly "The Heart Break Breed" ...

  • @jmvideo7 do great danes live long....i heard they dont live that long due to their size???

  • @2011CJM A Great Danes average life span is about 8 years. I did see one that was 14 years old, but this is very rare. We had to put ours down at 6 years old. The main reason for their short life span, is their heart only grows to a medium sized dog, therefore putting a great deal more stress on this giant breed. So you don't want to over exercise them. But at any age , this breed "Will Break Your Heart" when it is time to leave this world.

  • @jmvideo7 I tear up just thinking about loosing my Dane sometime in the future. He is only two years old, so I have lots more time with him, but still.

  • @fjellklatrer I know exactly how you feel, I lost my first one ("GOLIATH") a few years back and think about him every single day! We spent thousands of dollars trying to save him, but he only got worse, until we had to make that dreaded decision . At 6 years and 6 days he left my world with Dignity and Grace. I cried like a baby for a very long time and to this day I still shed a tear when I dwell on him too long. We now have Marty, our fawn Great Dane , he will be 4 in December. Enjoy them !
