http://ExploreWorldTV.com teams with HD Guru, Gary Merson, at http://HDGuru.com to tell you about the Mitsubishi LaserVue HDTV.

Welcome to Explore Technology. Chances are that somewhere in your house is a device or maybe many devices utilizing a twisting nematic field effector you may be looking at images produced by xenon and neon gas contained in hundreds of thousands of tiny cells positioned between two plates of glass. Sounds like something Mr Spock might have to explain to Captain Kirk concerning a new menace to the Starship Enterprise. No, my friends, this isnt science fiction, its science fact! A twisting nematic field effect is just tech-speak for how an LCD Display works. And those thousands of cells positioned between two plates of glass is more commonly called a Plasma TV. Im not going to go all, Mr. Wizard on you. I just want to talk about the evolution of a device we now take for granted, Television.

Like all things, evolution and improvements carry on. TV has reached a new level with the introduction of LASER HDTV. Mitsubishis LaserVue HDTV replaces the light bulb and puts in its place a laser as the light source. Lasers are more efficient. And at only 10 thin and with a 65diagonal screen size it uses about the power of a 100 watt bulb. Thats about half the power of comparably-sized LCD and 1/3rd as much power as a plasma TV. The LaserVue from Mitsubishi will deliver a 160degree angle of view. And if that isnt enough you will be able to watch 3D on it! Yes, I said 3D! The stereoscopic glasses are extra. Mitsubishi first introduced LaserVue at the Consumer Electronics Show in January of 2008. While the images were stunning the time the delivery of this fantastic marvel of technology was a very nebulous sometime this year. It will still be a few months yet before you can walk in to your local store and buy one of these beauties. But be glad because you will need the time to save your pennies. On second thought youd better start saving a lot more than pennies. Priced at 7,000 dollars is a high end investment in technology! But just how good is it? Explore decided to ask the experts. And who better than my good friend The HD GURU himself, Gary Merson. Gary recently posted the first technical review of the Mitsubishi L65-A90 LaserVue HDTV. We are excited to have exclusive footage of some of Garys testing. What is easy to see is just how thin this set is and the amazing angle of view. The other thing that is easy to see is the intense color. The Guru said that he had covered several prototypes of the LaserVue set, and that this one blows all of them away, and he rates it in the stratosphere of top displays of the very best sets like Pioneers Kuro Gen 2, Pansonics 65VX100U plasma and LED-backlit LCDs. The major issue conquered in the final version over the prototypes is speckling, the sparkles you see when you reflect a laser off of a flat surface (try it with a laser pointer). There are none.

Gary went on to say that the L65-A90 will treat you to a level of performance that exceeds any display he have tested to date in terms color gamut, brightness and low power consumption. In addition, its black levels were as deep as the darkest display previously reviewed. Complimenting the TVs black level is its ability to resolve dark detail and not bury it (into black) as some other displays do. On the aesthetic side, the LaserVue is a designers dream. It is a sexy, sleek animal that will satisfy the most primal caveman urges for High Tech Toys without upsetting the female side of your house. Can you believe that this is just a step towards ULTRA HIGH DEF TV, ah but wait thats another story To Explore more about the LaserVue read the full review of what Gary said about it on his website, HDGURU.com.
