  • What a wonderful hike! Great views!

  • @BruceMoosedotCom My brother lived in the shadow of the mountain for 25 years before I talked him into climbing it with me. Kind of blew his mind, that trip up big k.

  • @7:09 That solidified my decision! Thank you for sharing and Congratulations on your Journey!

  • @4micaman I believe you won't be disappointed. It's a remote, and off the grid kind of place up there. The good news is that the staff that run the park are simply great. They understand that you are on a dead end road to a mountain few attempt to climb, and they are very helpful. Maine folk are a cut above. Get to the Gate early, as it is "first come first serve". Enjoy the journey.

  • Thanks so much for your message! I will be brave then, and try Katahdin the next time I have the opportunity. :) Can I share your video on our Trail Dames You-Tube channel? Thanks!!!

  • @rebvesey Thank you. Yea 70 mph winds and zero visibility is rough. I bet the next time you all go will be much better. The view is awesome. I saw your Hampton Beach video, and had to smile. I spent 7 summers working there. It afforded me the opportunity to spend the rest of the year thru hiking the AT. I know that beach all to well.

  • This is such a beautiful video that really gives the full experience of climbing Katahdin. My husband and I climbed it in 2005 and this year I'll be taking my group Hot Mama Hikers (hotmamahikers.blogspot.com) there in a month and a half. I posted it to the hot mama hikers facebook page to give the group and our friends and family a sense of what it's like to climb. Thanks for sharing!
