Just trying to make a difference about something that means a lot to me.

Penny in a Jar

Put on clothes that are so last season.
Put off buying that new car.
Have a goal and know your reason.
Put a penny in a jar.

How many times do you go out to eat?
Do you buy cigarettes?
Do you get front row seats?

Haven't you noticed the pain and the suffering?
Over there,
Over there
On the other side of the world?

For every time you wanted to buy that candy bar at the store.
For every time you thought you needed more, more, more.

Just think about the humans
Who never got a chance
To blow out their thirtieth birthday candles
Or eat a marshmallow s'more.

Put a penny in a jar
Put one penny in a jar
When you mail it in instead of watching a movie or buying an album or taking tuba lessons or gambling at the casino or paying the gardener or going on vacation,
You'll know that you did more.

  • Thanks, I'm glad it meant something to you.

  • Pain and suffering is relative. If you do not feed the pigeons, they will go away.

  • What people don 't realize is that the day you stop the routine consumption that is in place in the world, many companies will be firing people because there is less demand for their services xp.

Consumption is what keeps the system going I am afraid. Less people buying cars? More car companies going bankrupt.

Less people buying shoes? Less people working on the shoe company...

  • Thanks for making this video. The penny in a jar visual is very powerful.

  • this video is trying to get people to change their ways, i dont think as americans we care about the suffering of other people.. and we shouldn't because they wouldn't care about us... That's just nature

    Terrible Video

  • statistics

there are 300 million people in the USA if everybody spent $20 dollars we would have spent 6 billion a day.

  • Pain and suffering are not relative, the tolerance level or ability to endure are. Imagine that you're a pigeon, there isn't food in the next yard over, no way to get there if there was and the buzzards and predators are circling. People aren't pigeons. Think of that the next time a pigeon craps on your head.

  • very powerfull.
